I've just solved stage 45 but it appears my method didn't need to solve the [spoiler] in part 45b? Really confused how and why I got to the answer and why the [spoiler] was necessary?

Hi
I've tried sending PM's to GMT regarding my lack of progress on this stage, but they appear stuck in my outbox rather than sent box so not sure if these are being received?

Hello all I found this excellent puzzle a week ago and managed to get to this stage fairly quickly (with the help of the subtle hints on this forum). I'm now stuck at stage 34... I've got both images and the 4 equations, my question is why is the title of the stage 2c=y and not c2=y? Is this a red h...
